Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
I have been working in the natural health and fitness field for almost 10yrs.
What is your primary product or service?
Primary services at my office include: Nutritional Counseling, pH testing, Blood Microscopy, Iridology, Reiki, Personal Training, hair/urine/saliva testing, and yoga and pilates classes. I do not carry any retail products within my office. I find it a conflict of interest to have a product sit on the shelf and possibly find myself suggesting that product simply to free myself of the financial burden of the inventory.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
After many years of receiving no real answers to my health care needs I was lucky enough to be told by my primary care physician that I needed to look into alternative health, yoga, and natural dietary changes. While growing up my parents owned and operated a natural vitamin company, NuLife Nutritionals. At a very young age I understood the importance of clean foods and clean supplements for proper functioning of the human body. As I got older, married and had chilren I was once again faced with decisions to make surrounding foods vs prescriptions.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I dont sell supplements. All other naturopaths and nutritionist base their business on the sale of supplements, only pleased with their work when a client/patient leaves the office after purchasing hundreds of dollars worth of supplements. I dont want that done to me, and would never do that to one of my clients. I am very focused on educating all those who come to see me. It is my goal to teach them all that I know, not just what they need to feel better today, but what will keep them healthy forever.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I have one office in the downtown area of Butler, Pennsylvania. I may be working out of the Autism Centers of Pittsburgh in the near future.
What type of payments do you accept?
I accept cash, check and credit cards. I also allow for payment plans to be set up.
